A dermatologist, Dr. Manish Gupta, has been arrested for allegedly killing his domestic help, Meena Haldar, 45, in their South Delhi residence. According to police, Gupta struck Haldar on the head with a cricket bat and stabbed her multiple times with a knife on the terrace of their apartment building.

The incident unfolded while Gupta's teenage son was inside the family's flat and shortly after his wife had left for work. By 11:36 am, a neighbour had spotted Haldar lying in a pool of blood and alerted police.

Police say Gupta has admitted to the crime, citing long-standing grievances against Haldar, though investigators are also examining the family's claim that he had been undergoing treatment for mental health issues for the past decade.

The killing has sent shockwaves through the neighbourhood, with residents expressing their disbelief at the brutal nature of the crime.

Meena Haldar's son, Robin, has demanded answers, saying his mother was brutally killed for no reason, despite her hard work and dedication to the family.
