ECI Extends Deadline for Electoral Roll Revision in 6 States, Including UP and TN

The Election Commission of India has announced a deadline extension for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in six states. The revised SIR dates are as follows: Tamil Nadu: The enumeration process has been rescheduled for December 14, with the revised electoral rolls to be published on December 19. Gujarat: The revised SIR dates are also December 14 and 19. Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh: The enumeration period has been extended to December 18, with the publication of revised electoral rolls on December 23. Andaman and Nicobar Islands: The revised SIR dates are December 18 and 23. Uttar Pradesh: The enumeration process will conclude on December 26, with the revised electoral rolls to be published on January 1, 2026. In contrast, the SIR process in other states, including Goa, Gujarat, Lakshadweep, Rajasthan, and West Bengal, will conclude on December 11. The draft electoral rolls for these states will be published on December 16. The Electoral Commission has encouraged new electors to register by submitting Form 6 along with a declaration to ensure their inclusion in the final electoral rolls, which will be published in February 2026.
