A 60-year-old farmer was brutally killed by his relatives in a land dispute in Chhattisgarh's Surguja. The incident occurred at Pathrai village on Sunday, with police arresting eight accused, including two women.

The arrested accused include Umesh, who allegedly ran the tractor over Hosram, Bajrang Paikra, Bhuvneshwar, Manoj, Raghunandan, Bodhan, Kamli, and Pyari. Police have seized the tractor and are conducting further investigation.

The land dispute between Hosram and his relative Bajrang had been ongoing for a long time, with Hosram claiming rights over 6.30 acres of farmland based on his aunt's will. A revenue official initially ruled in his favour, but a magistrate overruled it following an appeal, escalating tensions between the two families.

On Sunday, Bajrang's family went to plough the disputed field, leading to an argument and a clash between the two groups. The accused allegedly assaulted Hosram with sticks, and a tractor was driven over him after he fell to the ground.
