The All India Medical Students' Association (AIMSA) has condemned a joke made by a female doctor on male corpses during a show by comedian Pranit More, calling it 'unacceptable' and a violation of medical ethics.
The controversy emerged after a clip of the doctor, identified as Sejal Pawar, went viral, in which she made jokes about comparing the sizes of private parts of male corpses in a hospital.
AIMSA has urged the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to intervene and ensure such jokes are not promoted or broadcast, and has requested relevant authorities to take strict action and ensure public accountability.
The medical body stated that body donors deserve the highest dignity and respect, and that mocking human remains is unacceptable.
The controversy comes amid another row over a man's comments on a date with a woman, which sparked outrage on social media.
