Two individuals, the 20-year-old fiancée and her 22-year-old boyfriend, have been arrested for plotting and executing the murder of 25-year-old Pune businessman Ketan Vishal Agarwal at Lohagad Fort.

Agarwal, a director in his family firm Success Group, was pushed down a 400-foot-high gorge by his fiancée Siya Goyal and her boyfriend Chetan Chaudhary, who were in a relationship for over a year.

The couple had been engaged in February this year and were set to wed in November, but Goyal was secretly in love with Chaudhary and had been trying to avoid the marriage.

On June 18, Goyal convinced Agarwal to take her for a hike to Lohagad Fort as a birthday present, where she pushed him down the gorge, claiming she had spotted a snake.

Investigations revealed that Goyal had hidden Agarwal's passport to avoid a pre-wedding photoshoot in Bali and had also tried to kill him during a previous trek to Lohagad.

The two accused have been booked for murder and conspiracy under sections 103 and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and taken into custody.
