A devastating pile-up on the Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura has claimed four lives, with at least 25 injured, after multiple vehicles collided in dense fog early on Tuesday. The tragedy occurred at Milestone 127 at 4:30 AM, with seven buses and three cars involved in the crash. A dramatic video of the aftermath surfaced on social media, showing charred vehicles and rescue teams on the scene. According to Mathura district magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh, three of the deceased were in buses and one in a car. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a compensation of ₹2 lakh for the families of the victims. The CM has also instructed officials to provide the best possible treatment to those injured. Mathura SSP Shlok Kumar confirmed that the incident was caused by low visibility due to dense fog, which led to the pile-up and subsequent fire. 'Those admitted are being treated, and none is reported to be serious,' Kumar said, adding that traffic was diverted during the rescue operation and the injured were shifted to nearby hospitals. A dozen fire tenders and 14 ambulances have been deployed at the spot, with officials working to douse the remaining flames. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with many expressing condolences to the families of the victims.
