A 25-year-old gym owner was shot dead and a young woman injured in a targeted attack near Hansi town in Haryana's Jind district.
The assailants, on a motorcycle, fired around 10 rounds at close range before fleeing the scene.
Kapil Redhu, the deceased gym owner, was conducting a morning workout session when the attack occurred.
According to police, Redhu was hit on the head and back and collapsed on the spot, succumbing to his injuries.
A woman participating in the workout session, Shikha, sustained minor injuries and was rushed to a hospital.
A social media post by Hari Boxer, allegedly associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the killing.
However, police stated that Redhu was never named as an accused in the February 2025 firing incidents in Shekhpura and Dhani Puriya.
Redhu was facing four criminal cases, including assault, murder, and a case under the Arms Act, and was out on bail.
