Haryana Police Cracks Down on Crime: 700 Raids, 165 Arrests in 24 Hours

In a major crackdown on crime, Haryana Police conducted a massive operation, 'Operation Hotspot Domination', which resulted in the arrest of 165 accused individuals and the registration of 92 new criminal cases in just one day. The operation, launched on Monday, saw police teams raiding 707 identified 'hotspots' across the state, yielding significant results. As a result of the swift and coordinated action, police recovered a large quantity of narcotics, including 4.33 kg of cannabis, 218 grams of opium, and over 85 grams of heroin. Additionally, 890 intoxicating tablets and 23.5 grams of smack were seized from drug traffickers. The operation also focused on curbing the sale of illicit liquor, with police seizing over 1,000 bottles, including 839 bottles of country-made liquor. Three pistols and five live cartridges were recovered, and five new cases under the Arms Act were registered, with five individuals arrested. Moreover, the police successfully arrested 22 notorious criminals using an active intelligence network and strengthened inter-state coordination by sharing 15 important intelligence reports with neighbouring states. A Look Out Circular was issued in Fatehabad, and a proposal was sent to cancel the passport of a violent offender to prevent him from fleeing abroad. The operation also tackled cybercrime, with the police acting on 309 complaints received on Cyber Helpline 1930, involving an attempted fraud amount of around ₹88,36,208. The cyber team swiftly froze ₹59,14,533 of the amount before it could reach the fraudsters' accounts.
