The Haryana government has released the second instalment of the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana, a cash transfer scheme aimed at empowering low-income women. The initiative, launched on September 25, provides ₹2,100 per month to women aged 23 and above with an annual household income below ₹1 lakh. As of November 30, over 900,000 women had applied for the scheme, with 701,965 eligible beneficiaries receiving the second instalment. However, 143,619 women still need to complete their Aadhaar-based KYC, which is a prerequisite for receiving the benefits. In a significant change to the scheme, the government will now deposit financial benefits every three months, rather than monthly. The first instalment was released on November 1, and the second instalment has been credited to the accounts of 701,965 women. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini hailed the initiative as a major step towards women's social empowerment and economic self-reliance. The scheme is a testament to the government's commitment to supporting low-income women and promoting their financial independence.
