Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi directed departments to accelerate sewage-treatment, industrial-effluent-management and pollution-control projects to improve Yamuna water quality.

He emphasized the need for a coordinated, time-bound and technology-driven approach to ensure the Yamuna remains clean and pollution-free.

The Haryana government has launched an extensive action plan focusing on sewage treatment, industrial waste management and real-time monitoring of drain pollution.

Projects involving over 425 MLD of additional sewage treatment capacity and over 150 MLD of industrial effluent treatment capacity are underway.

The government aims to complete all ongoing and proposed projects by December 31, 2027.
