IMD Issues Red Alert for Delhi as Rain and Thunderstorms Loom

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for most of Delhi, forecasting very light to light rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds gusting up to 80 kmph.

The mercury is expected to reach between 38°C and 40°C, with an Air Quality Index of 135 (moderate) recorded at 9am.

Palam recorded the highest rainfall at 1.3mm, followed by Chattarpur, Pitampura, and Pusa, while Lodi Road received trace rainfall.

The IMD has predicted light rainfall with thunderstorms at various locations in Delhi and Haryana, with a spell of rain expected on Saturday.
