India and Estonia are taking steps to enhance their defence cooperation, despite the challenges posed by the Russian threat. The two countries are working on a historic agreement to collaborate on technology partnership, industrial collaboration, and joint research and development. Estonia, a small Baltic country bordering Russia, has identified India as a potential supplier of military equipment, including air defence systems, artillery, and ammunition. As a member of the European Union, Estonia is increasing its defence spending in response to the Russian threat, from 2% of its GDP in 2022 to over 5% in the next year. Estonian Defence Ministry's Permanent Secretary Kaimo Kuusk said, "We need cost-effective solutions for military capabilities because we can't cope with Russia's approach to mass warfare, especially drone fighting.
