The Indian government has temporarily restricted access to Telegram, a popular messaging platform, to prevent scammers from targeting vulnerable NEET students.

The move comes after the National Testing Agency (NTA) flagged a technical loophole that allows fraudsters to create false evidence of question paper leaks.

According to the NTA, scammers can post an innocuous message before an examination and later edit it to insert the actual question paper after the exam has concluded, making it appear as though the paper was leaked in advance.

Two individuals, Sumer Singh and Akash Meena, have been arrested for allegedly operating an inter-state Telegram scam targeting NEET aspirants, while a separate case has been reported of a Bihar resident, Navinkumar Yadav, siphoning off refund payments meant for NEET candidates.
