Union Home Minister Amit Shah has directed security agencies to establish a multi-layered, impregnable security grid along the Amarnath Yatra route and at major tourist destinations in Jammu and Kashmir. The annual pilgrimage is scheduled from July 3 to August 28.

Shah chaired a high-level review meeting on security and logistical preparations for the Yatra in Delhi, emphasizing the need for close coordination among the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and other security agencies.

He instructed the use of modern technologies such as drones, CCTV surveillance, advanced monitoring systems, and other technological tools to strengthen the traditional security framework.

The Home Minister also stressed the importance of adequate arrangements for essential services, including pilgrim registration, accommodation, healthcare facilities, and disaster management.

Robust security arrangements will be made at major tourist destinations beyond the pilgrimage route, allowing pilgrims to safely enjoy their visit.
