The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has instructed all ministries, state governments, and regulators to review their cybersecurity posture and implement recommendations by CERT-In to combat AI-enabled cyber threats.

MeitY Secretary S Krishnan emphasized the need for continuous exposure management, monitoring, and rapid remediation and containment, rather than relying on periodic security checks.

The agency has also released guidelines for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), which include regularly checking products for security flaws, keeping updated records of software components, and quickly disclosing critical vulnerabilities.

The guidelines aim to strengthen the resilience of digital systems and information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure against evolving cyber threats.
