India-US Tensions Ease as New Delhi Engages with Washington on Trade and Visa Disputes

India's government has confirmed ongoing engagement with the United States to address trade and visa disputes sparked by US President Donald Trump's executive orders. The orders, issued in July and August, imposed tariffs and restrictions on Indian goods and services. According to Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh, the Indian government is working closely with exporters and industry to assess the impact of these measures. Singh also noted that the government is in talks with the US to conclude a mutually beneficial trade agreement. The US has welcomed India's offer, describing it as the "best ever," but has expressed concerns over India's resistance to importing US agricultural goods. The US Trade Representative has described India as a "difficult nut to crack.
