Union Home Minister Amit Shah has stated that the Centre will not permit demographic changes in Tripura, West Bengal, and Bihar through illegal infiltration. He emphasized that the government is strengthening border security using technology-driven measures.

Shah made these remarks while addressing Border Security Force (BSF) personnel at the Lankamura Border Outpost in West Tripura district. He expressed the government's commitment to sealing gaps along the country's borders and preventing infiltration.

The minister highlighted that the government's 'smart border' project is in its final stages and will involve BSF personnel, local administration, and modern surveillance technology.

Shah also announced the approval of installing 119 km of new fencing along the Tripura frontier to replace nearly 650 km of border fencing that is over 15 years old.

During his visit, Shah inspected the BSF's latest weaponry and interacted with personnel. He also laid the foundation stone of a five-star heritage hotel, the Taj Pushpabanta Palace Hotel, in Agartala.
