Police conducted simultaneous raids at the residences of eight people arrested amid allegations of irregularities in Ram Temple donations.

The raids followed a preliminary inquiry by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) that flagged prima facie irregularities in the handling of cash and valuables offered by devotees.

The eight accused, including close aides of Ram Temple trust officials, are currently in judicial custody and face charges under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Investigators are examining whether additional persons were involved in the alleged conspiracy and are collecting further evidence to strengthen the case.

The Ram Temple trust has sought to reassure devotees, assuring a fair and transparent investigation and urging people not to be swayed by 'rumours or misinformation'.
