India's largest airline, IndiGo, is facing a severe operational crisis, with over 2,000 flights cancelled in the past five days. The disruptions have led to long queues at airports, confusion over delays and cancellations, and chaos surrounding baggage claims. The DGCA has issued show-cause notices to IndiGo's CEO and Accountable Manager, seeking explanations within 24 hours. IndiGo has acknowledged the disruptions, citing a 'serious operational crisis.' The airline aims to operate over 1,500 flights by the end of Saturday, with over 95% of its network connectivity restored. It has apologised to customers and assured them that its teams are working to stabilise schedules, reduce delays, and provide support during this challenging period. On Friday, IndiGo operated only around 700 flights, connecting 113 destinations. However, on Saturday, the airline improved its connectivity, operating a significant number of flights and connecting 135 out of 138 destinations. The airline's efforts to resume normal operations are ongoing, but the situation remains uncertain. Passengers are advised to check the latest flight schedules and updates before their journeys.
