IndiGo has suspended all departure flights from Delhi's IGI airport until midnight due to operational disruptions. This comes as the airline cancels over 1,000 flights across India since Tuesday, with many more delayed. The disruptions are largely attributed to the new flight duty rules, which came into effect on November 1. According to the DGCA, IndiGo has requested exemptions from certain provisions of the Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) norms until February 10, 2026. The airline has assured the regulator that corrective actions are underway to restore normal operations by the given date. The new FDTL rules aim to reduce pilot fatigue by mandating 48 consecutive hours of rest per week, restricting night landings to two, and prohibiting consecutive night duties. IndiGo has issued an apology to customers and stakeholders affected by the disruptions, stating that their teams are working to mitigate the impact and restore normalcy in collaboration with government agencies and airport operators.
