New Delhi: IndiGo has formed a Crisis Management Group (CMG) to tackle the ongoing flight disruptions, the airline announced on Sunday. The group, comprising chairman Vikram Singh Mehta, board directors Gregg Saretsky and Mike Whitaker, Amitabh Kant, and CEO Pieter Elbers, has been meeting regularly to monitor the situation and implement restoration plans. The airline said the CMG was established following a Board-only session on the first day of disruptions, where the management provided a detailed briefing on the crisis. Since then, the group has been working closely with the management to stabilize operations and provide an enhanced travel experience for customers. IndiGo has made significant progress in restoring its flight schedules, with a focus on customer support. The airline aims to operate over 1,650 flights today, a significant increase from yesterday's 1,500 flights. On-time performance has also improved, with a 75% success rate compared to 30% yesterday. The airline continues to urge customers to check the latest flight status before heading to the airport. Refund and luggage processes are also in full action for both direct and indirect bookings. IndiGo has set a new timeline for stabilizing its network, aiming to achieve this by December 10, earlier than the initially communicated timeline of 10 to 15 December. The airline expressed regret over the inconvenience caused and apologized to its customers. It has promised to continue working diligently to improve operations and provide a better travel experience.
