Muslims across Kerala celebrated Eid al-Adha with special prayers and community gatherings. At the Palayam Juma Masjid in Thiruvananthapuram, religious scholar VP Suhaib Moulavi called for communal harmony and social unity, urging people to respect the sentiments of all communities.

Moulavi emphasized the importance of value-based education, saying students should understand values and grow into people with good culture and character. He also expressed concern over the spread of narcotics, welcoming the government's anti-drug measures.

The younger generation remains socially and politically aware, Moulavi said, and should never be underestimated. He concluded by praying for peace in conflict-hit regions, including Iran and Palestine.

Eid Al-Adha or Bakra Eid is a significant Islamic festival observed on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the 12th month of the Islamic lunar calendar. It commemorates the willingness of Prophet Abraham to sacrifice in obedience to God, symbolising faith and devotion.
