A 25-year-old software engineer, Shwetha, has been arrested for allegedly killing three members of her family in Bengaluru. The motive behind the murder is believed to be familial tensions over her relationship with her boyfriend, Kenneth, and financial disagreements.

According to police, the couple carried out the murders inside their family's apartment at Sai Green Homes in Dominic Layout, Seegehalli, on Monday night. Preliminary investigation suggests repeated disagreements between Shwetha and her parents regarding her personal life and relationship.

Police also found a book suspected to be a personal diary of the accused, which is being analysed. Several pieces of evidence have been collected from the scene, including digital records, documents, and witness statements.

The argument that led to the violence began around 7:30 pm at the family's flat in Seegehalli, escalating into a fit of rage in which the couple allegedly attacked Somasundar, Muthulakshmi, and Supriya with a machete.
