From a Diwali party meet to murder partners, the story of Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary is beyond comprehension. The two are accused of killing 25-year-old businessman Ketan Agarwal by pushing him off a cliff during a trek to Lohagad Fort near Lonavala on June 18.
According to police, Siya was reluctant to marry Ketan due to pressure from her family, and had developed a close relationship with Chetan, whom she met at a Diwali party last year. The two allegedly remained in regular contact and were discussing plans against Ketan.
Investigation revealed that Siya and Chetan had over 2,000 calls between them, averaging around 8-10 calls per day. Police also found that this was Siya's second attempt to kill Ketan, who survived the first alleged kill bid four days before his death.
Siya and Chetan have been booked for murder and conspiracy under sections 103 and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and have been taken into custody.
