Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered a two-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the fire incident that killed 15 students in Lucknow.
The SIT, comprising Amrit Abhijat and Praveen Kumar, has been tasked with determining the root cause of the fire and identifying any potential negligence.
The team has been asked to submit a detailed report within seven days.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak have also visited the site and assured that strict action will be taken against those found guilty.
The state government has announced an ex-gratia of ₹5 lakh each to the families of the deceased and ₹50,000 each to the injured.
President Droupadi Murmu, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi have condoled the loss of lives in the incident.
