Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress (TMC) is facing a severe crisis as several of its loyalists have defected to the opposition. The party's leader, Mamata Banerjee, is struggling to keep her party intact after a crushing defeat in the West Bengal assembly polls. The latest jolts include a legal notice from Kakoli Ghosh's son, Baidyanath Ghosh Dastidar, who has accused TMC leaders of making false statements against him. Saayoni Ghosh, a TMC MP from Jadavpur, has also joined the rebel camp, leaving Mamata reeling. The party's youth and women's wings have also been affected, with Saayoni being replaced as the youth wing president and Mala Roy being replaced as the women's wing president. Mamata Banerjee's nephew, Abhishek Banerjee, has also been grilled by the state's CID in a fraud case, adding to the party's woes.
