Odisha Brings Back 62 Workers After Tamil Nadu Gas Leak

The Odisha government brought back 62 migrant workers from Tamil Nadu after a gas leak at a seafood processing unit killed 12 workers.

The workers, who were from various districts, arrived at Bhubaneswar railway station with the state government making arrangements for their food, medical check-ups, rest, and onward transportation.

Labour Commissioner Indramani Tripathy said the evacuation was part of the government's efforts to bring home workers.

The Odisha government has also announced an ex gratia of ₹10 lakh from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for the family of each deceased worker.
