The Odisha government has lodged a case over the disappearance of inquiry reports from the chief minister's office during the last days of Naveen Patnaik's government in 2024.

The case relates to the Justice AS Naidu Commission and Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Central) inquiry reports, which were registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections related to criminal breach of trust, concealment and destruction of documents, and criminal conspiracy.

The reports went missing despite being submitted in 2015, and the Odisha government has now filed a case against unknown people.

The inquiry reports were related to the 2008 Kandhamal riots and the 2016 SUM Hospital fire in Bhubaneswar, which killed 24 patients.
