Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged European businesses to tap into India's talent pool and utilise targeted incentives to develop frontier technologies at the VivaTech event in Paris.
Modi highlighted India's vision for human-centric AI and other cutting-edge technologies, stating that technology can lead to progress only when it is democratised.
He emphasized the need for AI to improve lives, widen access, drive growth, and help sustain a healthy planet, adding that India's participation at VivaTech 2026 reflects this vision.
Modi also showcased India's credentials as an open society with the world's largest talent pool, simplifying regulations, and providing affordable data and low-cost green energy.
He stated that the government will enable and industry will innovate, with startups disrupting and global partners scaling with India.
Modi highlighted the role of technology in transformative changes in India, including digital payments, digital identity systems, AI-enabled agricultural progress, and cutting-edge space applications.
He also mentioned that Indian women are being trained as drone pilots, and satellite data is guiding fishermen to the most promising fishing zones, delivering prosperity at the grassroots level.
