Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to meet Jonathan, the world's oldest living land animal, during his two-day visit to Seychelles from June 27 to 29.
Modi will participate in the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Seychelles' National Day as the Guest of Honour and visit the Seychelles National Botanical Gardens, where he will plant a tree.
Jonathan, a 193-year-old tortoise, lives on the island of St Helena and has been designated an 'icon' by Guinness World Records.
Despite his advanced age, Jonathan is in good condition with a healthy appetite, although he has lost his sense of smell due to old age.
Modi's visit is expected to strengthen bilateral ties between India and Seychelles, with several agreements likely to be signed in areas including maritime security, space cooperation, and cybersecurity.
