A 23-year-old pregnant woman was allegedly murdered by her husband at their Faridabad home after he suspected her of having an extramarital affair.

According to police, Amit Gupta, 26, locked his wife Neha Kumari inside their house for up to 10 hours a day while he was at work as a graphic designer in Delhi.

The suspect allegedly forced Neha's head into a bucket of water before fleeing, and police said he had been locking her inside their newly constructed house in Panchsheel Colony Part II until he stopped going to the office last week.

A medical board conducted the autopsy on Saturday, and the detailed report is awaited.
