This visit assumes significance as it comes amid a deterioration in India-US relations. Putin's India visit began with a warm welcome at Delhi's Palam Airport on Thursday, where PM Modi received him with a hug, accompanied by traditional dance performances. The Russian leader is expected to leave India on Friday night after a brief 24-hour visit.
