The Ram Temple trust has confirmed the resignations of its general secretary Champat Rai and member Anil Mishra amid allegations of irregularities in donations.
The trust said it will consider their decision to step down at an upcoming meeting, scheduled for July 7.
The resignations come after the arrest of eight men, including an aide of Rai and two relatives of Mishra, linked to the temple management.
Police have recovered nearly ₹80 lakh in cash from the homes of the accused.
The trust has assured devotees that it remains committed to ensuring a fair and transparent investigation into the allegations.
The controversy has snowballed into a major political row, with the Opposition seeking to corner the BJP government over the issue.
