Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has dismissed Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge's call for the organisation to register itself, saying it is a political issue.

Bhagwat argued that several institutions and traditions exist without formal registration, citing Hindu Dharma as an example.

He also rejected allegations that the RSS functions in secrecy, saying its activities are conducted publicly and are visible to society.

The remarks came after Priyank Kharge wrote to Bhagwat seeking clarification on the organisational status of the RSS, saying an organisation with over 60,000 shakhas and crores of swayamsevaks should uphold transparency and accountability.
