Bangladesh has made significant progress in the investigation of the lynching of a 27-year-old Hindu man in Mymensingh district. Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus announced the arrest of seven individuals suspected of involvement in the brutal murder of Dipu Chandra Das. The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) units, led by RAB-14, conducted a coordinated operation in the area and apprehended the suspects, including Md. Limon Sarkar, Md. Tarek Hossain, Md. Manik Mia, Ershad Ali, Nijum Uddin, Alomgir Hossain, and Md. Miraj Hossain Akon. The lynching occurred amidst widespread unrest fueled by the recent death of youth leader Sharif Osman Hadi, a key figure in last year's student-led July Uprising. Hadi was shot in Dhaka and later died in Singapore. In response to the Mymensingh lynching, Bangladesh's interim government strongly condemned the attack and renewed its appeal for restraint. The government emphasized that there is no place for violence in the new Bangladesh and vowed to bring those responsible to justice. The government also called for calm and solidarity with journalists whose offices were vandalized in the wake of Hadi's death.
