The names of six Indian soldiers killed in action during Operation Sindoor in May 2025 have been inscribed on the National War Memorial in Delhi.

The casualties included five men from the army and one from the Indian Air Force, with two of them posthumously decorated with gallantry awards for their heroism.

The soldiers were posted at frontline bases during the operation, but the sequence of events leading to their deaths wasn’t immediately known.

Operation Sindoor was a four-day military clash with Pakistan, launched in response to the Pahalgam terror strike that killed 26 people.

Indian forces bombed nine terror camps in Pakistan and PoK, killing at least 100 terrorists, and struck targets at 13 Pakistani airbases and military installations.

The operation marked a significant milestone in India’s military history, showcasing its collective resolve and new military ethos.
