The Supreme Court has refused to grant bail to a man accused of cyber fraud, with Chief Justice of India Surya Kant making sharp remarks against those involved in online frauds.

During the hearing, the CJI described cyber criminals as 'parasites' who dupe investors out of crores of rupees, and stated that society's interest is that they should be inside jail.

The court underscored that cyber fraudsters often operate across state boundaries, making their crimes more difficult to detect and investigate, and indicated that a strict approach is necessary to deter such offences.
