Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has unveiled a transformative urban project, the 'Future City', which he believes will serve as a global benchmark and drive the state's economic growth over the coming decade.
Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the Future City Development Authority (FCDA) headquarters, the Chief Minister said the government is laying the foundation for a world-class city that will shape the future of Telangana and India.
Hyderabad currently contributes nearly 60% of the state's revenue, and the Chief Minister said the land values in the adjacent Rangareddy district are worth more than gold.
The Chief Minister accused political opponents of attempting to obstruct major development initiatives and warned that those who try to hinder the progress of Future City may not even secure the status of the principal opposition in the next election.
He said Future City will become a key driver in achieving the goal of transforming Telangana into a major contributor to India's targeted one-trillion-dollar regional economy by 2034.
The Chief Minister also defended the government's ongoing demolition drives, saying authorities are removing illegal structures built on public lands and water bodies.
He announced plans to attract major global investments to Future City, including green pharmaceutical industries, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), information technology firms, and several of the world's top 500 companies.
