The Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) camp hit back at the party's rebel Lok Sabha MPs, accusing them of lacking 'political morality and ethics' and terming them opportunists for trying to engineer a split.
The TMC MPs challenged the rebel MPs to make public a letter of support, questioning its authenticity and accusing them of effectively aligning with the BJP.
TMC leaders alleged that the rebel MPs had met Union minister Bhupender Yadav in the presence of West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, proving their allegiance to the BJP.
They also claimed that opposition workers and leaders in West Bengal were facing harassment by the administration, alleging large-scale political repression.
