A 25-year-old truck driver, Tamradhwaj Sahu, allegedly took his own life after claiming he was assaulted and threatened by occupants of a high-end car following a collision in Dantewada district.
According to police, Sahu circulated videos on social media stating he was going to end his life and stopped responding to phone calls.
A search operation was launched using the driver's mobile phone location, and his body was later recovered hanging from a tree in a forest near Banjari Ghat.
The truck driven by Sahu collided with a Mercedes car on Thursday, and an emergency response vehicle reached the spot following the accident.
Sahu released six separate videos on social media, alleging that the occupants of the luxury car assaulted him and threatened to kill him after the accident.
A senior police official said an investigation is underway, and a case will be registered against the deceased truck driver for the collision, while a separate FIR will be registered against the car driver and occupants based on allegations made in the videos.
