US President Donald Trump has lavished praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling him a 'great leader' and 'tough guy' who has been in power for over 12 years.

In an interview with Axios, Trump referred to China's President Xi Jinping and Modi as the two greatest leaders he likes the most in terms of power and leverage, and their ability to execute on that.

Trump credited Modi for India's growth and for doing 'fair business' with the US, saying that the country used to 'rip us off' in the past.

He also hailed Xi as a leader of great stature and confidence, saying that if a movie were made about either of them, it would be hard to find a man in Hollywood who could match their confidence.
