US Envoy to Visit India, Focus on Boosting Strategic Partnership and Trade

The US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Allison Hooker, will visit India from December 7 to 11, aiming to strengthen the countries' strategic partnership and deepen economic ties. During her visit, Hooker will meet with senior Indian officials in New Delhi to discuss regional security, economic cooperation, and shared priorities in the Indo-Pacific. In Bengaluru, she will visit the Indian Space Research Organisation and engage with leaders from India's technology sectors to promote innovation and explore opportunities for expanded cooperation. The visit marks another step forward in advancing US President's priorities for a strong US-India partnership and a free and open Indo-Pacific. In related news, India and the US have condemned terrorism in all its forms, including cross-border terrorism, and renewed their commitment to strengthening multilateral cooperation in countering terrorism. The two countries have also called for additional designations of terrorist groups, including ISIS and Al-Qa'ida affiliates, under the UN sanctions regime. The meetings underscore the importance of bilateral cooperation in countering terrorism, reflecting the spirit and breadth of the India-USA Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership. Hooker's visit is expected to focus on advancing the US-India strategic partnership, increasing American exports, and fostering collaboration in emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and space exploration.
