US President Donald Trump expressed gratitude after a road in Hyderabad was named 'Donald Trump Avenue' in honour of the country's 250th birthday.
The road, located near the US Consulate, was unveiled by Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and US Envoy Sergio Gor.
Trump thanked the people of Telangana for the recognition, calling it a testament to the strengthening US-India partnership.
The move has drawn criticism from the BJP, with party spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla questioning the Telangana government's decision.
Congress, however, sees the gesture as a demonstration of Hyderabad's growing role in US-India relations.
