Beltran, Jones, and Kent to Enter Baseball Hall of Fame with Caps from Iconic Teams

The National Baseball Hall of Fame has announced the inductees for this summer, including Carlos Beltran, who will be represented by the New York Mets, Andruw Jones by the Atlanta Braves, and Jeff Kent by the San Francisco Giants. Beltran, a nine-time All-Star and 20-year MLB veteran, spent seven seasons with the Mets and was named an All-Star five times as a member of the team. He accumulated 435 home runs and 312 stolen bases throughout his career, which included a World Series title with the Houston Astros in 2017. Jones, a 10-time Gold Glove winner and two-time National League All-Star, spent 12 seasons with the Braves before playing for other teams. He finished his 17-year career with 434 home runs and 152 stolen bases. Kent, a six-time All-Star and 2000 NL MVP, played six seasons with the Giants, five with the Mets, and four with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He finished his 17-year career with a .290 batting average, 377 home runs, and 1,518 RBIs. Beltran and Jones were elected to the Hall of Fame through the Baseball Writers' Association of America, while Kent was chosen by the Contemporary Baseball Era Committee. They will be joined by broadcaster Joe Buck and baseball reporter Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer in Cooperstown, New York, on July 26.
