Mirra Andreeva's remarkable rise to Grand Slam glory has been guided by coach Conchita Martínez, a former world No. 2 and Wimbledon champion.
Martínez, born in Spain in 1972, turned professional at 16 and enjoyed an illustrious 18-year career, winning three Olympic doubles medals and being inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2020.
Her coaching career began with the Spanish national team from 2013 to 2017 before successful stints with Garbiñe Muguruza and Karolína Plíšková. She joined forces with the young Russian star Andreeva in April 2024.
Andreeva and Martínez are frequently seen laughing and interacting warmly during practice sessions at Roland Garros, with their supportive relationship helping Andreeva reach new heights, including a French Open title, multiple WTA 1000 crowns, and a career-high world ranking.
