Mumbai: Alexander Zverev is one step away from his first Grand Slam title after defeating Jakub Mensik in the French Open semi-finals.

The world No.3 will face Italian Flavio Cobolli in the final, who received a walkover after Matteo Arnaldi withdrew due to illness.

Zverev has been to at least the quarter-finals at Roland Garros since 2021 and has been to as many Slam finals as Dominic Thiem, but is yet to win a Slam title.

He defeated Mensik 7-5, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 in the semi-final, and will look to seize his opportunity in the final against Cobolli, who is ranked 12th and playing his first Major final.
