A shocking case of domestic violence has left a Florida family reeling after 47-year-old Jason Kenney brutally murdered his wife, Crystal Kenney, and shot their 13-year-old stepdaughter in the face before taking his own life. The tragic incident occurred on Sunday after Crystal asked Jason to turn off the football game, which triggered an argument. According to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, Jason had been drinking and had a history of substance abuse. The couple's 12-year-old son quickly called 911 after Crystal's demand, but not before Jason shot his wife dead. The 13-year-old daughter was shot in the face and shoulder and is currently recovering in a local hospital. In a heart-wrenching statement, the teen described the moments leading up to the shooting, telling investigators that she begged Jason not to shoot her, but he did anyway. Jason initially fled the scene but was tracked down by police and eventually shot himself dead in a shed. The couple's 1-year-old daughter and the boy who called 911 were unharmed. As authorities continue to investigate the case, they are looking into reports that Crystal was a regular victim of domestic violence at the hands of Jason. A note found in the family's home, allegedly written by Crystal to Jason, expressed her concerns about his substance abuse and urged him to seek help. The note read, 'You're drinking, you're using cocaine again. This is not the way the family should be. You need God.' The children who survived the incident are now in the custody of their grandparents. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd described the scene as 'a beautiful Christmas tree with lots of Christmas presents under it, just like the nuclear family should be,' adding that the teen's survival was a 'Christmas miracle.' As the community comes together to support the family, Crystal's sister has promised to keep her memory alive, saying, 'I would tell my sister that I'm sorry that this happened to you. You didn't deserve this. I promise I will love your babies so hard.'
