ICE Agent Jonathan Ross' Family in Hiding Amid Minneapolis Shooting Protests
Jonathan Ross' wife and children have gone into hiding since the ICE agent fatally shot Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis
The family of ICE Agent Jonathan Ross has gone into hiding following a deadly shooting in Minneapolis earlier this week. The incident, which sparked statewide protests, involved Ross fatally shooting Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old mother, as she attempted to flee in her SUV.
According to reports, Ross' wife Patrixia and their children have not been seen at their Minneapolis suburb home since the shooting on Wednesday. A neighbor claimed to have spotted Patrixia pacing outside the residence just hours after the incident.
Ross' father, Ed, has come to his son's defense, stating that Good had struck Ross and another officer before attempting to escape. He also described Ross as a 'nicer, kinder person' and a devoted family man.
Ross, a veteran of the Iraq War, has served nearly two decades in the Border Patrol and US Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He has been a deportation officer with ICE since 2015 and was seriously injured last summer when he was dragged by a vehicle during a pursuit.
Federal officials have not publicly identified the officer involved in the shooting, but documents suggest that Ross was the injured agent in a separate incident in June. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed this, stating that the agent had been dragged by a vehicle in that case.
