Dick Cheney's eldest daughter, Liz Cheney, were among those who eulogized the former Vice President at his funeral service.
Liz Cheney, the eldest daughter of former US Vice President Dick Cheney, paid tribute to her father at his funeral service on November 9. In a poignant eulogy, she shared a personal moment she experienced just before her father's passing. Meanwhile, her husband Philip Perry also attended the funeral and was spotted by photographers.
In a private life, Perry has kept a relatively low profile. However, it's known that Liz and Philip met at a Colorado College alumni mixer in Washington DC. They both attended the college, with Perry graduating in 1986 and Liz in 1988. After reuniting at a law school event, they got married in 1993 in Wyoming and have five children together.
Philip Perry, a prominent lawyer, has had a distinguished career. He worked as general counsel for the Senate investigation into President Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore in 1997. He also played a role in Dick Cheney's vice presidential debate against Senator Joe Lieberman. Perry served as a policy coordinator on George Bush's transition team and later worked as acting associate attorney general for the Justice Department.
In addition to his law career, Perry has also worked as a lobbyist and has been involved in various high-profile cases. He was nominated by Bush for the post of general counsel for the Department of Homeland Security in 2005. Today, he is a partner at the international law firm Latham & Watkins.
Perry's attendance at his father-in-law's funeral is a testament to their close relationship. As a devoted husband and father, Philip Perry has maintained a sense of loyalty and duty, echoing the values that defined the Cheney family.
