Mississippi Massacre: 6 Dead in Bizarre Shooting Spree, Suspect Held Without Bail
Daricka M. Moore, a 24-year-old man from Mississippi, was arrested after a violent spree that left six dead, including family members and a church pastor.
A shocking wave of violence swept through rural Mississippi on Friday night, claiming the lives of six people, including a 7-year-old girl and a church pastor. The suspect, 24-year-old Daricka M. Moore, was arrested at a police checkpoint and is being held without bail at the Clay County jail on murder charges.
Moore allegedly carried out the attacks across three locations, targeting his own family members and a church. The victims include his father, Glenn Moore, 67, his brother, Quinton Moore, 33, and his uncle, Willie Ed Guines, 55. Moore also shot and killed a 7-year-old girl at her cousin's residence and two members of the church community, Rev. Barry Bradley and his brother Samuel.
Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott revealed that both evidence and witness accounts suggest Moore acted alone, and investigators are still trying to determine the motive behind the brutal attacks. Moore is expected to appear in court on Monday, where his attorney will be assigned, and the district attorney plans to seek the death penalty.
The medical examiner is conducting autopsies on the victims, and the community is left reeling from the senseless violence. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to piece together the events leading up to the tragic events.
